About this Product
Once upon a kitchen countertop, nestled among enchanted utensils and magical spices, rests a cherry plaque, measuring 4"x6.75", masterfully laser engraved with an amusing proclamation of culinary disdain. The inscription, inspired by the whimsical world of Harry Potter, reads: "I hate cooking because it's a constant reminder that I'm not a wizard. I can't just wave a wand and make a meal appear." Spells for soufflés that deflate faster than a punctured Quaffle and potions that refuse to transform into delectable dishes. This plaque serves as a charming reminder that even in a world of magic, the art of cooking may remain a mystery for some wizards and witches, who'd rather rely on a house-elf's culinary prowess than risk a kitchen catastrophe.

Meet the Maker
We are a husband and wife team living in the Black Hills of South Dakota. We have lived in the Black Hills for 17 years and we love the beauty of the area. Coming from northern tip of the Sacramento valley in California, the Hills feel like home-just a little smaller. We both grew up loving the outdoors. We were raised hunting, fishing, riding everything from horses to dirt bikes, hiking the national forests of northern California (Shasta, Lassen, and Trinity) and camping. We have 2 children and 4 wonderful grandchildren. Tammy has always crafted and Chuck has been woodworking since high school. When Chuck retired, we decided to start a small business to help take up some of the time we have on our hands and to do what we both love.
Chuck makes custom woodworking items, such as cutting boards, charcuterie boards, and various decor pieces from premium domestic and exotic hardwoods. He also does woodturning in the spring and summer months. It's a little hard to hold the tools in subzero temps! He is teaching two of the three grandsons (both 5) how to glue, sand, seal, and finish the pieces. While one is really interested, the other tolerates Grandpa's teachings until he can get back to his Legos. The little one be ready to start building in a couple of years.
Tammy transforms readily available items, such as cutting boards and decor pieces, ceramic and glass tiles, and soft and hardwoods, into unique decorative and functional items, with an emphasis on modern day pop culture and the beauty of wildlife and the outdoors. Laser engraving has become a true passion and, with the assistance of her 3 year old crafting shadow, she spends most weekends in the craft room, designing and creating. Her little shadow helps pick out paint colors (pink), themes (ballet), and creates her own watercolor masterpieces. Potty training was completed by bribing her with a pink ballerina tumbler that she helped design.
We do some custom work, such as cutting and charcuterie boards, as well as custom laser engraving. If you can describe it, we can usually come up with a design for you. All custom work will be sent as a mock up for approval prior to work starting. Please see Shop Policies for more information on custom work.
We look forward to assisting you in choosing the perfect piece for your home or gift giving needs, be it decorative or functional.
